Basketball Leagues
This program
is for boys and girls in grades 1-6.
Games are held on Saturdays through January and February. If your child is interested in playing,
contact the Y. It may not be too
late! Games will begin January
10. Practices are already in
progress.
Casimir Pulaski 3-on-3 Tournament
Get your team together and get ready for a fun-filled
day at the Y! Boys and girls in
grades 3-6 are eligible to play.
Registration deadline is 5p.m. on Tuesday, February 24. Stop by the Y for registration
information and rules. All teams are
welcome!
Rate: $40/team

For children ages 3-5. Spark your child’s interest in
cheerleading in a program that will give them the opportunity to learn
cheers and meet new friends.
Participants will learn jumps and basic tumbling. Children must be 3 years old to
participate. The first clinic is
February 28.

Training
Personal Trainer, Ricki
Castellanos will lead participants through a rigorous strength training
workout in the youth wellness center as well as cardio workout. This is an excellent fitness opportunity
for kids! This class will be offered
both Fall I and Fall II Sessions.

Lakeshore Golf Course will staff these lessons for youth
as well as ladies. Whether you are
new to golfing or refining your swing, you will benefit from these group
lessons.

The YMCA
invites all youth members to take part in the Happy Feet Mileage Club. This self paced program is an attempt to
make children more active andhelp combat childhood obesity. Each child will be given a chain on which
they will accumulate “foot beads” for each mile walked or
ran. There is not a fee to
participate. Get your children
started today!
Healthy Kids Day
Come to the YMCA on Saturday, April 18, 2009 and enjoy
displays from local and state agencies.

The PLAY program is
a comprehensive diet, exercise and education program for both children and
their parent(s). This program is a
collaborative effort through the Christian County Medical Clinic, Taylorville Memorial
Hospital, University
of Illinois Extension Office and
the Christian
County YMCA. Class begins Thursday, January 8th. This is a 16-week program.

This program is for
children ages 4-6. Basic skills will
be focused on the first 2 weeks. The
remainder of the weeks will be spent on game play. This is a great opportunity to get
children ready for Spring Outdoor Soccer League. Program dates are: March 14, 21, 28 and April 4.

Spring Outdoor Soccer League
The Christian County YMCA
offers this league for youth age 4 through 8th grade. The first of 8 games will be played on
Sunday, April 19. Remaining games
will be held on Saturdays. Practices
begin the week of March 23rd.
Participation is free for Y Family Membership holders if registered
prior to April 18th.

Tae Kwon Do
A great activity to do with your family! Harold Gist and Lisa Abernathy teach this
class under the tutelage of Grandmaster Thomas E. Perry. Tae Kwon Do aims to achieve the following
tenets: courtesy, integrity,
perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.

The Youth
Wellness Center
is for children age 9-13 and is located on the Mezzanine. All machines are designed for youth. A parent needs to be present to assist
participants when a staff person is not present, unless the youth has previously
participated in the strength training class.
